The PLATO Society of Los Angeles is the most unique peer to peer, adult learning society in America.
We offer our members the opportunity to use their minds and social skills in our signature Study Discussion Groups (SDGs). In addition to these structured, member-led courses we have many other activities and events.
Our SDGs and other activities may be offered in-person at our Gayley Headquarters and/or on Zoom.
PLATO is an acronym for Partners in Learning Actively Teaching Ourselves
We currently have about 400 members. We are a non-profit, member-run organization.
Our typical members:
